Dear Family,
This week was great! We had 3 baptisms on Saturday,
three little girls from less active parents that go to church with
there families that live by them. It was a really cool experience. Then on Sunday
we had an assistance, 96, the highest I've seen in the branch. It's
really cool seeing this branch growing in a short time. The parents
of the girls we baptized came to church on Sunday, I was really happy about that to. Our goal is to have 100 members come to church every week.
After Church we saw one of the members and his son
doing ''Visits'' (home teaching). This member about two weeks ago was
drinking about everyday. And he came up to us drunk crying and saying he
didn't want to lose his family. So it's really special to see a change
in him, and a change in his family.
I don't have changes so I will stay here for another
six weeks, I'm really happy because I'm really enjoying this area.
Elder Valdez is really cool, and we will continue to work really hard.
Love Elder Weston
Dear Family,
Thanks for the
letters, Wow the weather sounds terrible, sometimes I see the news here
and they always say in New York that it's freezing. I
do not miss the smog, to bad you guys are feeling sick. The Panamanians
are always saying they are sick. It might just be because they are making
excuses not to go Church, but they are always taking something for coughs.
Halls cough drops are literally candy here.
I was thinking this week about keeping the Sabbath
day holy. Sometimes we go to Church and think you aren't learning anything
or I've heard this lesson before. But we need to realize going to Church
is more than just hearing lessons. We go to Church because it's a commandment. That should be a good
enough reason for everybody to go to Church. Also we partake of the Sacrament which is another commandment, and it gives us strength for
the rest of the week. Also going to Church every week shows your desire
to continue to follow Christ. Sometimes we think we are only missing
lessons, but it's a lot more then that.
Love you,
