Migraciones

Dear Family,

Thank you for the letters. I had a great but very exhausting week but this next week we should have a baptism on Friday, I am really excited about that. Thursday we had to go to migraciones to review my Panama ID and it took all day.  When they took my picture for the ID, they told me because in my passport I'm wearing glasses that in the ID picture I had to wear glasses too.  I borrowed the glasses of my companion so the picture really looks weird.  I'll send a copy to you. I got to talk to all the missionaries from my group in the MTC so that was really cool.

I got the package grandma and grandpa sent for my birthday. I totally got the Reese's, they were amazing.  That's good Hunter is back on his mission he will do great.

Thanks for the pictures of the wedding, I thought the duck face one was funny. Where's my nephew?
This week we have Zone conference with the area seventy Elder Amado. I'm really excited it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm sure were going to learn a lot. The zone conference is held at the chapel next to the temple.

This week in Church we had an attendance of 102 which the highest I've seen so I'm really happy. I know hard work really pays off. I'm grateful for examples of hard work, and trusting in God.

Thank you,
Elder Weston

Happy Birthday

Dear Family,
Thank you for the letters. I really can't believe I'm 20 years old I'm not a teenager anymore, but I feel like a little kid still. This morning I ate a cake, and a pancake. I don't really have anything planned for my birthday today, I haven't got the package but it should be coming soon. I liked those pictures of the snowmobiles they looked cool.

Wow the time in the mission is moving by really fast, every change seems to move by quicker and quicker. Changes are coming up on the 5th of March, I have no idea if I'm staying or getting changed.

Dad asked when we talk to our investigators about baptism, we almost always try to mention it the first visit, and on the second visit but a ''fecha'' baptismal date.

Yesterday we had divisions, so I got to go to another branch which was cool. We got to sacrament and they asked who's going to do the ''mission minute''. The other missionary turned to me and said he can. So I had to give a little thought in sacrament, it turned out well. I read a little from the talk by Dieter F. Uchdorf, the doubt you doubts one. That same day my companion and I read that entire talk at a members house and everybody loved it.
Yesterday we were walking and a drunk guy came up to us and was telling us he wants to change. He had a beer in his hands and we asked him to throw it away, and he did it right away. Then my companion gave him one of the pamphlets we give out with our telephone number on the back and we managed to get him on a bus home. The cool thing was he called us back this morning. It was the first time in my mission somebody has called us back and we put our phone number on every pamphlet we give out it.

I'm learning a lot and I am doing great here.

tranquilo

Dear Family,
Thanks for the letters you sent me, it sounds like you guys are doing great. That's crazy McKay Prestwich is going home in a month, the time in the mission really flies by.  Also thanks for the photos of Michael's dance and McKay Milne's car, they both made me laugh. We are always saying how we wish we had cars like the missionaries in the states, but we have cooler buses.

This week went well, we got to go to the temple on Thursday with the district and that's always a lot of fun. I enjoy the temple more and more every time I go. It's also really relaxing and ''tranquilo''.  I'm really grateful the temple is so close here in Panama, and at home. We're really lucky at home to live between so many temples.
We have a few positive investigators now, we continue to work hard,  right now we haven't been contacting for so long. We fill most of your time with investigators that we already have or less active members. So almost everyday we visit 2 or 3 less active members.
This week we gave the mission minute at Church, and I gave it form the message of the First Presidency this month, about serving the Lord with Love by Thomas S. Monson.  I really enjoyed the talk and the very last paragraph,
“If you have Christlike love, you will be better prepared to teach the gospel. You will be inspired to help others know the Savior and follow Him.”

Love you all,
Elder Weston

be a friend

Dear Family,

Thanks for all the letters. That's crazy Tyler is going to the Ukraine I don't even know how to say the name of the mission. That's also cool he's learning Russian because just yesterday a drunk guy (he wasn't really really drunk, just a little) spoke a little Russian to us and told us we could pass by his house at anytime.  That's great Hunter can leave for his mission and San Antonio will be a cool place to go.

Fast Sunday was good, everybody gets up to bare there testimonies here. Fast Sundays just wipe us out by the end of the day we are so tired, but it's always good to fast with a purpose. That's cool you fasted for unity in the mission, don't worry me and my comp. are doing great.

The super bowl sounded kinda lame, the super bowl and the Olympics are not really popular but baseball and soccer are really popular. Those pictures of baby Charles looked cute. That's super exciting that Copper Hills won in state I bet they were happy. I never went to a Drill Team Competition, I always did what Michael did, just buy a ticket and go home.

This week I read my Patriarchal blessing and it says something like share what your blessed with including your heart. Here in the mission we always find people with different problems, most of the times with family members who don't keep the word of wisdom. I've never had to worry about these problems in my life, so sometimes I feel unqualified. But in my Patriarchal blessing it basically says be a friend. I know we won't comprehend everybody's problems but we can always be a friend and help where we can. I always try to be a friend to everyone and the best things we can give is our love.
